Katie, I was just rereading your previous posts tonight. They bring me comfort and make me feel close to your mom and to you. I’m getting ready to go to bed and decided to check my email and found your latest post. Thank you for sharing your gift and for sharing these memories. Love you ❤️
Being with your Mom as she passed is an honor, I feel like she maybe knew that and wanted to make sure you were there. I was with my Mom when she passed too, overnight in the hospital, an honor that I remember every minute of. I wouldn’t have dreamed of being anywhere else, even as painful as the loss is. And not a day goes by that I don’t think of my Mom, they are with us always.
I have so loved reading your reflections of your mom. She and I were in Siggies together at ACU. I absolutely respected and just really admired her strength of character and her transparency on Facebook. And i miss that connection with her so much. It's been so hard to accept that I'll never see them again and that I didn't get to say goodbye. Your willingness to share over these past few weeks has been so comforting. I told her once when we became friends on FB that I always thought of her as Bree's character on Desperate Houswives.....proper, perfectly put together, and always the perfect hostess. She took it as a compliment (or so she said...lol). You are an extremely gifted writer, Katie. Thank you from the bottom of my ❤️.
